Even though cupcakes are very popular today, the nation’s baker’s claim the traditional scone has made a revival with the quintessentially English Afternoon Tea en vogue.
Afternoon tea is apparently associated with the West Country, but scones are actually themselves Celtic, their origins Welsh or Scottish, and their predecessor was the ‘griddle’ scone.
Personally my favourite is a warm scone, raspberry jam and clotted cream. Mmm….

My choice would have to be the scone even though I do like the cupcakes. They do serve cupcakes with afternoon tea’s now as they have become so popular 🙂

The cupcake I’ve known for years. And I have enjoyed tea as well. But I only recently discoved the scone, and like it very much.

Love the scone if it is fresh and warm and smothered in butter and pineapple jam would be my favourite, strawberry if there is no pineapple though 😀
