October is the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Village Kitchen supports breast cancer awareness month with some lovely pink china.
It is a worldwide annual campaign which takes place in October, involving thousands of organisations, to highlight the importance of breast awareness, education and research.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Breast Cancer Now aim to get as many people as possible involved in raising awareness and funds to help support our life-saving research and life-changing support.
As the UK’s largest breast cancer research charity, along with their supporters, they do this through campaigning, raising money, an array of events across the UK as well as, of course, wearing it pink.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month do something great – make life-saving research happen by supporting wear it pink.
There are plenty of other ways to get involved and support our work during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and beyond.
From campaigning to helping women get access to the breast cancer drugs they need to sharing information women need to know about checking their breasts, your support will help to reach the day when breast cancer has claimed its last life.
There are lots and lots and lots of different charities set up to raise funds for this month and for many months after that. Here s a list of just a snippet of the charities participating in this month’s activities. If you can’t manage anything else then just buy a pink ribbon and wear it with pride.
Breast Cancer Support – Breast Cancer Support is a breast cancer care charity providing care, and helping breast cancer patients worldwide who can’t afford medication or treatment.
Know your lemons – Know your Lemons is charity all about breast cancer awareness, They have educated over 500 million on the signs of breast cancer.
Walk the Walk – Walk the walk are holding their 23rd MoonWalk in London. * Walking through London at night in your decorated bra whilst raising money and breast cancer awareness!
National Breast Cancer Foundation – The National Breast Cancer Foundation provides help and inspires hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services.
Breast Cancer Now – Breast Cancer Now campaign to make sure that everyone affected by breast cancer receives the best possible treatment, services, support and care.
The charities listed are just a few of many more registered charities throughout the UK supporting breast cancer and breast cancer awareness month. Check your local press for events taking place throughout the month to help support someone you may know is either going through the treatment of breast cancer or recovering from it. Breast Cancer Now says that ”One in seven women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. ”
