If the answer to ‘Are you an ethical and conscious shopper’, is yes then you must join the latest social network site Atlist for ethical and conscious shopping.

It’s a new site which has posts around environmentally friendly issues and some great up to the minute details/reviews on different gifts.

They say they are ‘the upcoming social media platform for conscious gifting and keeper of creative exclusive content built by a community of wishers. Atlist lets you create wishlists, seek inspiration and connect with your friends. Once connected with your friends, you’ll be able to see all their wishlists and follow the things they love through your newsfeed. If you see something you love too, add it to your wishlist or like, comment, share’.

It’s easy and FREE to join and you start your Atlist by creating your own wishlists then linking ones from either Atlist or from another site to your wishlist ( a bit like a Pinterest board) except everything is more environmentally friendly and around gifting.

It’s early days at the moment but easy to navigate around and already has some really interesting posts. I love their ‘Top Plant Based Recipes‘ board, which has ‘Raw Date & Hazelnut Brownies – Deliciously Ella’ and also her ‘Blood Orange and Coconut Vegan Mousse’.

Daily Prompt: Candle or not a Candle, that is the question?…

via Daily Prompt: Candle

Well I don’t know about you, but that sure looks like a candle to me. But actually it’s an 8″ wax drip pillar battery candle with a timer. With these Wax Drip Pillars you can enjoy the natural and authentic look and flickering effect of traditionally melted candles without the mess or hot wax damage. It’s available in 4”, 6” and 8” or as a bundle and has a 5 hour timer. These cream pillar candles will look beautiful anywhere in your home so why bother with a real one.

If it’s the real wax smelling candle that you like then you could go for this 5″ candle pillar. A beautiful 5″ real wax flickering candle as appealing as its smaller relative. Have a family of candles side by side to add extra effect. This pillar candle has a real wax dripping effect at the side. Unbelievable and fascinating, they never melt or burn down, no messy wax to scoop out. Taking on the look of a traditional pillar candle, flameless candles are an amazing authentic substitute where candles could never go before. All of the above and lots more to choose from at Battery Candles. They would make a great Christmas present 🙂

I guess you still have to say ‘when is a candle, not a candle’?…

Made By Hand Online is the brainchild of two friends from Devon who have brought together a whole community of makers to promote the Craft industry, and sell high quality craft directly to the public – online.

They both share a deep interest and respect for the making community and felt frustrated by how hard it is to buy good quality handmade products – not because they don’t exist but because for some reason they’re not accessible to the public in the same way as the mass-produced. Their value is often misrepresented online and this makes it hard for customers to find what they want.

They say that ‘ aims to make it easy to buy what you really want. Our collection represents a highly selective mix of the finest makers from UK and Ireland, with an enviable group of jewellers, ceramic artists, furniture makers, textile designers and fashion accessory makers as well as beautiful pieces made from glass, willow, metal and leather. We’re so pleased to be working with so many fabulous makers of contemporary craft and hope you will join us in supporting and promoting their incredible skills’

They sponsor some of the UK’s leading Craft and Design events, including The Contemporary Craft FestivalMADE London, MADE BrightonMade By Hand Wales and The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair. I could spend ‘all’ day looking around this site and end up with so many things I want to buy. Truly, different and unique pieces and well worth a visit.

Tea Basket

My friends and family know how much I love my tea and afternoon tea, so I guess it was no surprise to me that for my birthday the girls bought me a voucher for a Champagne Afternoon Tea for Two.

There are over 40 different locations to choose from and it says the ‘experience’ will last around 2 hours.

On top of that my children bought me a Fortnum and Mason Tea Hamper which has a tin each of loose-leaf Royal Blend and Earl Grey Classic tea, accompanied by our rich Clotted Cream Thins. We have also included a tea strainer and a pretty china mug, which is made especially for Fortnum’s by the historic firm of Burleigh.

Plus, wait for it, another Champagne Afternoon Tea Voucher and tour of Kew Gardens…

I’m not sure where to start but I will review as I go along.

The Chocolate Gourmet opened in 1999 to provide the local area with the world’s finest chocolate in its various forms.

In June 2004 they opened their second shop at Tudor House, 72 Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury and following a low key approach over the last few years launched their website.

They have a wonderful team who are all equally dedicated in the service they offer.

Watch out for some fantastic additions to the Chocolate Gourmet range.

A must have for your kitchen.

This framed Print of William Gladstone’s quote from 1865 is by ‘Love Being British’ on >

The quote reads:

I love Tea. If you are cold, tea will warm you. If you are too heated, it will cool you. If you are sad, it will cheer you. If you are excited, it will calm you.

– William Gladstone 1865

This Love Being British product comes in two different sizes with a choice of frame colour (black or white) so you can tailor this framed quote exactly how you would like it. I’ve just got to have one. 🙂
