While staying at Broadoaks Country House Hotel I picked up some details they had on Lucy Cooks Cookery School, which was highly recommended.

Lucy Cooks has created her very own celebration called 12 for 2012, in which during 2012, on the same date in the month as that month is within the year, ie February 2, March 3, April 4, May 5 June 6, July 7, August 8, September 9, October 10, November 11 and December 12, cookery classes will be held. The first 12 people to ring and book a full-day course will receive a 50% discount.

However to grab these places, you will need to be under starter’s orders and quick off the blocks as it’s first come first served. Lucy’s courses are many and varied from ‘Pies, Puds and Perfect Pastry’, ‘Curry Fight – Indian Vs Asian Curries’, ‘British Classics for beginners’ or a ‘Masterclass – Italian Cupcakes and Champagne’.

You can find out all the details from her website, www.lucycooks.co.uk

Lucy’s is also available ‘On A Plate’ (Cafe and Restaurant) in Ambleside, or ‘Lucy4’ (Wine Bar and Bistro) also in Ambleside and ‘Lucy’s Inside Out’ (Outside Catering) so Lucy is a very busy lady. Her cookery classes are held at School Mill Yard, Staveley, Nr Kendal LA8 9LR Tel No 01539 822507
