    Downton Abbey

According to Afternoon Tea.Co.Uk, Downton Abbey is one of the most successful period dramas ever broadcast. Now guests at The Cadogan, located on London’s Sloane Street, are being given the opportunity to gain an exclusive insight into the show, its cast and characters.

Jessica Fellowes, niece of the show’s creator Julian Fellowes, will host a series of special Afternoon Teas on Mondays throughout the summer: 8th July, 22nd July, 5th August, 19th August, 2nd September, 9th September and 16th September 2013 from 3.30pm to 5pm. Jessica has written two worldwide best-selling books on the series: The World of Downton Abbey, and The Chronicles of Downton Abbey.

During Afternoon Tea, Jessica will give a talk on Downton Abbey, providing insight into the real-life inspirations for the characters as well as behind-the-scenes secrets, and take questions from guests.

Tickets to the Downton Abbey Afternoon Tea cost £45 per person and advance booking is essential for this event.

Afternoon Tea at The Cadogan is served in association with Partridges and features assorted sandwiches, home-baked scones and pastries.  It also includes a Chelsea Bun, which was first created in the 18th Century at the famous Old Bun House near Grosvenor Row.

Guests can also enjoy a number of special tea blends, created by Partridges. Blends include: Mr. Shepherd’s Blend, Royal Blend and Afternoon Blend. Partridges has also developed a range of Chelsea Flower Teas, inspired by the historic association between flowers, nurseries and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

The Cadogan, owned by the Cadogan Estate, is one of London’s prestigious Knightsbridge hotels. Built in 1887 by William Willett, all areas of this beautiful townhouse have been sympathetically decorated to create an exceptional standard of luxury. The Cadogan is perhaps best known for its association with Oscar Wilde, who was a frequent visitor and stayed in room 118.
