As a true lover of dark chocolate it made my day when I read that dark chocolate turns ‘healthy’ in your stomach.

Scientists in America claim that dark chocolate ferments in the stomach and turns into useful anti-inflammatory compounds which are good for the heart. Of course they also point out that some chocolate can be high in sugars and fat.

The team tested cocoa powder and said that by adding fruit to the chocolate this would aid the fermentation process. However the British Heart Foundation warn that people should not be eating chocolate to help their hearts just yet.

Watch this space for news about a plan to research a chocolate pill for heart disease made by MARS.
