Afternoon tea has been a British institution since Anna Maria, the 7th Duchess of Bedford, asked her footman to bring her a pot of tea and light refreshment one afternoon in 1840. The ritual caught on and afternoon tea became part of everyday life.
Throughout the whole of May Etrop Grange are offering their luxurious High Tea for £10.95pp and donating 50% of the proceeds to St. Ann’s Hospice.
Not been there….Quite pricey….Hospice, notwithstanding….;)x
It is for what you get but I guess you do think ‘Hospice’ when you buy the afternoon tea 🙂
What an interesting history we have a lot to thank the Duchess for :)) xx
