Have you some mismatched cups and saucers?

Well ceramics designer Richard Brendon has scoured antique shops in London to find a selection of orphaned saucers.

One of his oldest is a Derby piece dating back to 1800.

He also has some delicate teacups gilded in platinum and gold to go with them. They cost £85 for a cup and saucer.

We have some white china with gilded handles and initials painted on them, I think I should get them valued. I do use them when friends come for afternoon tea but I have been very naughty and popped them in the dishwasher afterwards.

For more details go to Richard’s website.

If I had the room Bushka I’d buy a new one from a charity shop everyweek. My daughter also collects them. 🙂 x

You may have a fortune to be unearthed. Just be careful you don’t drop them.

We have dozens of pairs and a few sets that Astrid treasures. Which I don’t. I don’t save material things, if they’re valuable flog ’em and buy some comfortable pods.

Maybe she could rent them out – lots of companies are setting up and renting out their collection for afternoon tea parties etc. :)My hubby would agree with your comment on it though m :))
