Here are some simple things you can do yourself to help fight climate change.
- The obvious one which is to switch to a green energy tariff. The Uswitch independently verified Green Accreditation Scheme can tell you just how eco-friendly an energy tariff is before you sign up with them.
- Eat fruit and vegetables that have been grown in the UK, or have a go at growing it yourself. Wherever possible buy your fruit and veg from local farmers markets.
- Use your car less and cycle more if you manage that. Car sharing is another option if work is quite a distance away.
- Make your home more energy efficient. You can find tools online to help you with this.
- Buy less intensely farmed meat.
- Buy more eco-detergents and other products
- Whenever you are buying anything new for the home think green before you buy it.
- Recycle You know you should, so just do it.
- Use Energy Saving Light Bulbs. LED lightbulbs are more expensive to buy initially but last longer and will save both energy and money over time.
- Our tap water is perfectly safe to drink in many parts of the world. Stop buying all those water bottles!
