You would have to use far more salt than is usual in bread for it to have a significant retardation effect on the yeast.
Really Tom, you like making bread then do you?
I used to make my own bread from scratch, twice a week. I use a machine now, but I do intend to going back to doing it manually again.
Why would you go back to making it yourself, surely its much quicker with the machine. I keep saying I will buy one, but I’m wondering if i would then end up making too much of it. 🙂
You get more control over it doing it manually, plus it’s really satisfying 🙂
Yes, I guess so really, it’s like baking instead of buying it in a packet to bake. Gosh it’s making me feel hungry. Must get to bed away from food before I start on some supper. 🙂

Well, there you go maybe some didn’t and will notice a difference next time they bake bread.

I always put two teaspoons of sugar in my water and my yeast to help the yeast poof up. It works. Xx
