The Association of Tea Bloggers was started for the purpose of sharing information and resources among tea blogger members and also to facilitate dialog within the larger community of tea wholesalers, retailers and other tea industry professionals.
The organization also provides an up-to-date and centralized listing of member tea blogs which includes information potentially useful to other tea afficionados and tea professionals.
The Association was created in June of 2009. Founding members are: Stephen Knoerr of The 39 Steeps, Cinnabar of Gongfu Girl, Lainie Petersen of Lainie Sips, Brittiny Lawson of My Steeped IdentiTEA, Nikki Means of Tea Escapade, and Jason Walker of Walker Tea Review. Jason Walker and Cinnabar are Co-Directors of the organization.
If you wanted to become a member of the ATB, then read the Criteria for Membership on the website and then fill out and submit the membership application form. Your application will then be reviewed by current ATB members and they will notify you within a couple of weeks to let you know whether your application has been approved. Rejection of a membership is generally due to the applicant’s blog not meeting their published list of requirements, and we generally encourage bloggers to re-apply again later if their status changes. Mine was refused so I guess I ought to try again. 🙂
I’ve been rejected occasionally too, usually because I don’t have a big enough daily readership.
I guess that must be my problem then 🙂
