To prolong the life of herbs and salads, take them out of the plastic bags, wrap them in damp kitchen paper and store them in the salad drawer.

If you use Parmesan, don’t throw away the rind, instead place it in a jar and cover with olive oil. After a couple of weeks you will have a delicious flavoured oil to put on your pasta or salad dishes.

Store nuts in the freezer. It will prolong their life as they can go rancid rather quickly.

When a recipe calls for a small amount of white wine, replace it with vermouth. Apart form it being a lot cheaper, you won’t be tempted to drink the rest of the bottle !!!!!

Very nice Shimon, I like wine but it certainly does not like me (unfortunately).
