On one such group, a user asked what the “best” way is to remove tea stains from cups.

The post received over 1,000 answers from fellow cleaning fans.

One of the most common responses was to use bicarbonate of soda and water.

A user replied: “Bleach or bicarbonate of soda and scrub it!

“Using a scrubbing brush it will come up fab!”

Another person wrote: “Warm water and baking soda into a paste and scrub.

“I do it on all stains in cups and bowls or ceramics.”

Another cleaning fan simply said: “Bicarbonate of soda.”

One person said: “Baking soda and warm water.”

Another user replied: “Bicarbonate of soda with boiling water overnight.”

A cleaning enthusiast replied similarly: “Teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in warm water overnight.”

While another replied: “Baking soda for the perfect clean.”

You can buy a small tub of bicarbonate of soda from the baking aisle for just 65p from ASDA.

However, you can buy bigger boxes for £1.75 from Wilko or Ocado.

Other users suggested using bleach, denture tablets, lemon juice or salt.

A user replied: “Table salt and rub it in with a wee drop off water onto the stains then wash it out as normal.”

Another person said: “Salt and toothbrush.”

While another cleaning fan said: “Toothpaste or Steradent tablets.”
